Let’s set the scene with a pair of cruiser bikes, fish and chips, a handful of eclectic vintage shops, and an arcade complete with oversized plush prizes. Do you feel like you’re part of a romantic comedy montage yet? Well, Brighton wouldn’t have it any other way.
Brighton is a British resort town that makes for a solid day trip from London. At its core, Brighton is an eclectic town with an alternative, open-minded edge. On the surface, however, the town is bursting with seaside kitsch. It is at once tacky and irresistible. With an endless supply of independent shops, the Brighton Lanes are the ideal spot to fortify your collection of first pressing vinyls or to pick up a vintage denim jacket. You can grab a flat white to watch the flurry of pedestrians wander by or pick up a greasy order of fish and chips before you let yourself get too starved. Invite your 5-year-old self to come out and play with a ride on the Brighton Wheel or the yellow and blue Turbo rollercoaster at the edge of the pier. When the rain inevitably comes, you can wait out the storm over skeeball and rounds on the claw machine inside the Brighton Palace Pier – arguably the most iconic thing to do in Brighton. And don’t even get me started on all of the garish desserts; Brighton might be the foodie capital of the UK, but that doesn’t mean they’re beyond cotton candy or heaping bags of fair food.
There are plenty of lovely things to do in Brighton, but the best way to experience it is to just let yourself wander. Considering an easy day trip from London to the not-so-sunny British coast? Here are some of our favorite things to do in pretty little Brighton.
More details on things to do in Brighton and our favorite spots at the end of this post.
