what the hell is the Freakybuttrue Peculiarium? | Portland, USA

What is the Freakybuttrue Peculiarium? Activity / Museum
Where is it?  2234 NW Thurman St, Portland, Oregon, USA
How much does it cost? $5
How long do I need? 30 minutes – 1 hour
Worth it? 3/5 Stars

The Freakybuttrue Peculiarium is a chimp with braces. It’s an alien autopsy. It’s a bathtub full of plastic guts, a simulation of being buried alive, and the inside of a zombie brain.  It’s also a former ice cream (+ insects) parlor, though to our dismay, you can no longer join the Insectatarium Club. It smells slightly like a Halloween store, looks like a drama club prop closet, and to be honest? It lives up to its name as one of the most peculiar places we’ve ever been.

I have never been one for gore, but I do love novelty. And for novelty? Well… it’s $5 unusually spent. If you’re ever looking for weird things to do in Portland, the Peculiarium is DEFINITELY weird and worth at least 30 minutes of entertainment.

Words can only do so much to describe it, so we figured we’d just show you. It’s going to get strange.
